Technology
What happens when you combine the largest Cloud elements (so-called little clouds) and a Speedboard® plate? The result is a very soft landing and an incredibly explosive toe-off. All ON shoes have one thing in common, and that is the patented Cloudtec sole. This system consists of so-called clouds that compress on impact, reducing the impact force and ensuring a soft landing. To regain their original shape, they use the absorbed energy for so-called dynamic rebound.
Materials
Lightweight, durable and, thanks to the Helion superfoam midsole, it doesn’t matter what the temperature is outside – the shoe is soft even at sub-zero temperatures. The upper of the shoe is made of lightweight and breathable mesh. The tongue is thin and fairly wide, nicely wrapping the whole foot and holding it in place – the shoe is immediately very comfortable and nothing feels superfluous. Stability and explosiveness are added by the Speedboard® plate hidden inside the midsole. The curved “rocker” sole makes the shoe very smooth.
Design
ON claims that these are the strangest running shoes they have made in their twelve years. The Cloudmonster is a comfortable and versatile running shoe, suitable for long training sessions, recovery sessions or everyday shorter runs, on tarmac and light gravel roads.
