Ski length is chosen according to the skier’s body weight, height and skills. In most cases, skis are chosen 10-20 cm longer than your own height. On hilly terrain or in the forest it is easier to move with shorter skis, while longer ones are preferred in open areas and on trails. Shorter skis are easier for beginners to control. When moving in deep snow, longer and wider skis provide better flotation.
