What usually distinguishes a ski jacket from an ordinary spring/autumn jacket is a windproof (sometimes also waterproof) front panel, while the back and sleeves are air-permeable to ensure maximum freedom of movement and breathability during exercise. However, there are also models made entirely of windproof and waterproof material.
